It seems like everybody is writing in journals these days, even Malfoy. I caught him writing in one last week. I was shocked when I saw him bent over a piece of parchment, quill in hand, and I was even more surprised to see what he was actually writing in--a DIARY. I just had to comment. Normally, I try to avoid all confrontation (the famous trio do enough
Slytherin bashing for the rest of us), but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to chide him a bit.
"Is that a DIARY, Malfoy?" I asked, catching him off guard. "Aren't those for girls?" Of course, being the lousy, good-for-nothing git that he is, he threatened to hex me and deducted 20 points from Gryffindor! I didn't even know prefects could deduct points. Please tell me he was just bluffing! The boy clearly does not have a sense of humor. It's a shame. If it weren't for his rotten personality, he might actually be the most attractive male on campus.
Speaking of the devil (and I do mean devil), where has that kid been? I don't miss him or anything, but I haven't seen him around. Maybe he's in the infirmary. It'd serve him right.

At any rate, I decided to get a journal myself. [Yeah, I know I'll probably hear about it from Malfoy, but man... Malfoy writing in a journal?! That's almost as ridiculous as Crabbe or Goyle writing in a journal--that is, assuming they can write] It's actually a pretty clever way to stay up-to-date with school events and gossip.

Well, other than that little run-in with Malfoy, today has been pretty uneventful. [note: I, of course, knew it would be as I read my tea leaves this morning.] I better get going. I'm supposed to meet Seamus in the common room in five minutes . . .
