One Week

Harry, everything should be ready for me to teach a DA meeting next week. We'll work on basic charms to change appearance and the Fleiximodorum potion. I hope everyone can work out a good time for me to come. When you decide, Harry, just let me know.

Hermione, I missed you on my last visit. I hope you haven't holed yourself up in the library too much. I need help on something. Please start answering my owls!

Ginny, I'm glad that you seem to be feeling better. How's quidditch practice going? Have you used my 'secret'?

Nonsense

Since when did being an Auror mean spending time in the library? This last week has been one of the most difficult ones yet. I've been placed securely under the new investigations comittee for the 'mysterious occurances' lately. Bloody wankers won't even admit to the connections to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. After all, anyone can muster fifty or sixty wizards to carry out an attack on multiple fronts and murder hundreds. Can't they?

I've mainly been tasked to investigating the missing books from the stores. I think it's considered the most menial task, so they put me on it, since I'm new. They certainly won't listen to my findings, although I think they're pretty interesting. I can identify 27 books so far by name and author. 8 of them are origionals, with no other copies. I'm working on getting access to copies of the rest, to try and see what they all have in common. Just by the titles, though, I have some pretty good ideas.

I've also been working with Mundungus Fletcher on something for the DA meetings. He's promised to come through by Saturday. I'm not too certain I trust him, but I guess obtaining restricted elements is his specialty.

I must go now. I have a few owls to send.

More work

Finished off my stay at Hogwarts with an Order meeting. Many things were discussed, most of which I'm not allowed to make public here. Let's just say I've got a lot of work cut out for me.

Harry - I've talked to Professor Snape, your first lesson will be ready in three weeks.

Lupin - Professor Snape requires, um, Something of yours for one of the potions I requested. Let me know if you want anything in return for it.

Ginny and Ron - Your owl will know where to find me. Don't hesitate to ask for anything.

Haphazard Alley

I'm dedicating this entry to the cleanup, just for those who want to know. If you don't, I guess it'd be a good thing for you to skip this entry, because it'll probably upset you.

***************************************

I guess it's really time to talk about it. At least, that's what everyone keeps saying. Fine, if it's what you want, I'll tell you about it.

Clearing the rubble enough to get everyone out took four days. We had little hope of finding anyone alive, and as time passed and we saw the total damage, the hope disappeared. The Death Eaters tortured anyone they could find before locking them in basements or on the top stories of the taller buildings. When everyone was found, and their fun was up, they went around shooting reductor curses at the foundations, knocking buildings over and using the unforgiveable curses on anyone who escaped or cried out. We couldn't find any Death Eaters that got trapped. They were too careful.

We're really not sure what they were looking for, but evidence shows that a few of the bookstores were carefully picked apart before they were exploded, especially in the old and rare books sections. If anyone has any information about the inventories of these stores, it would be invaluable. We need to know what they were looking for, what they passed over, and what they took so we can anticipate their next move.

Sorting and cataloging the bodies was probably the hardest part for me. I'm not sure which was worse; recognizing people I had once known or seeing bodies wrecked beyond recognition. Most of them were covered by curses designed to block us from getting to them, just in case people lived. Someone was truely twisted when they invented some of these; I've never seen anything like them before.

Now that I'm home, I can't shower enough. I still feel the stench of smoke and grit every time I move. I've been trying to go on visits to keep my mind off of things, but now I don't even have that, since my last visits ended in disaster. I don't know what I'll do with the next three days we have off. If I have to be alone the whole time, I think I'll go mad.

Rumors and Confusion . . .

The Weasleys and the Potter boy made it back to Hogwarts safely after the funeral. I know this because I saw to it myself. Without Charlie. That's about all I know, though. Everywhere I turn there are rumors and suspicions. Ron's convinced he killed Arthur. I tried convincing him otherwise, but honestly, since I was escorting the three of them alone I was rather more worried about their well-being than their feelings. Then I go to Headmaster Dumbledore to report on the funeral and Charlie's already there. Neither of them will explain what's happened, no matter how many questions I ask. I was just told to reassure the Weasleys and return to my job. Although it's incredibly frustrating, I will do it. I have to. On another note, I've heard that Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy's son and his little gang have returned to Hogwarts, under Dumbledore's orders. I certainly hope he knows what he's doing.

Tears Never Stop

He did it.

We knew he was going to, we just didn't know when, or where. Things at the ministry are still incredibly disorganized. All the Aurors have been pulled for dismantling dark curses and hexes at the site. At least a hundred people are dead, and instead of investigating, trying to find the suspects, we're scampering around like trained bunnies cleaning up the mess. Okay, maybe not bunnies, but you get my point.

I'm apparating to the alley now to assist with the clean up. Don't know what they expect me to do, I was always very bad at all those householdy spells and charms. Shacklebolt is always saying that my desk is entirely too cluttered. I don't know what he's talking about, I can always find what I need.

I'm so sorry to everyone that lost family or friends in the attack, but trust me when I say we're working on it.

More from among us as well.

Sirius, Hestia. Gone. I knew how many people we could loose. I had heard the stories from the last Order, saw the pictures, read the papers. I knew how risky it was to get involved. It never occurred to me that the hardest part would not be risking my life daily, but risking the pain of seeing my friends fall one by one.

And Bill . . .

I really don't know what to say. He was a true friend. One of the few members of the order close to my age. I know we got teased for sitting around and talking too much, but he was someone I could really identify with.

Arthur, Molly, I'm so sorry I couldn't do more. If there's anything I could say or do to fix it, I would. I wish I had paid more attention, dug a little deeper, found out plans before hand. I'm so, so sorry.
