Hmm. A lot has happened in a year and a few months, which is how long it's been since I last updated. So let's see what we can do...
Since last April, I gained a new friend: Silkie, my iPod. Sadly, he's dying now. :{ I'm so depressed. But if I have to get a new one, Silkie's essence[i/] will carry over into the next one. He shall be reincarnated, hopefully into a video iPod.
And for the record, it's "iPod." Not "ipod" or "IPOD" or "Ipod." iPod. Only a capital 'p'. Thank you.
What else? I went to Bermuda last summer. It was absolutely amazing. Good times with Molly, Melissa, Rachel, Tara, Gabby, Matt, Jake, Ben, Josh, and the rest of the gang. :} Snorkeling was amazinggg. There were so many fish to see, and they were all so vibrant. The first place we snorkeled I got a cut from the coral which still has not completely faded over, so I think it'll be a scar (it's on my leg). I'm actually really glad about it -- I have a permanent souvenier! I think I remember reading somewhere there's a particular reason for getting scarred by coral, but now I can't recall exactly what it is... oh well. The night dive was incredible, but poor Jake got stung really bad. :{ But we saw squid and an octopus, all in one night. Speaking of cephlapods, Dr. Wood is the man. He actually visited recently, which was really cool. Augh. Bermuda was absolutely the right choice. I definitely want to go again next year. Joey and I wanna sign up! :0)
Let's see, what's next. Well, after Bermuda came the trip to Arizona. Arizona was beautiful. The sense of being connected to the earth and the wildlife is very strong out there. The Red Rock State Park we visited was incredible. We did a lot of hiking there, and once you were, say, five minutes onto the trail, all signs of civilization faded away and you were alone, with only the sun and nature as your companions. There were breathtaking Native American ruins that we visited that I found fascinating (if you call them "Indians" around me, expect a chewing out). I have a ton of pictures from that vacation, if anyone is interested in seeing.
What happened next? I started my sophomore year. I was very studious (not so much right now ><) in the beginning of the year. I was in Ms. Hastings' class, but let's just say that didn't work out too well. So I have Ms. Regan, who's very nice, Ms. Narden, who's an insane Latin teacher, Jlal the Evil Chem Teacher Who NO ONE likes (jerkkk), Ms. Kimball, whom I've learned more from as an English teacher and as a person I could ever hope than I ever have before (and who I happen to find hilarious), Miss Amento again, whom I'm biffles with, and Ms. Wilder, who's nice but only after class.
Next, there's the new addition to the family. His name is Titan, and he's a yellow lab/coonhound mix. He's absolutely the sweetest thing you've ever met, and I'm researching the possibility of having him become a therapy dog (the kind that visits hospitals). He's technically Gregory's dog, but that sort of thing looks good on college transcripts, you know?
Hmm, what else? Christmas? Is Christmas next? Well, we held the annual Imperato family Christmas party here. It got pretty hectic, what with about 70 people running around in my house, but it was a blast as usual. It's always great to see everyone. :} I can't remember much that happened that night, but we had fun.
Jumping ahead to February vacation, my dad and I took his new Acura (with XM satellite radio...) *drools* up to Cortland to visit Stephanie. I met her housemates and boyfriend Ryan. We went on a couple hikes and went out to dinner both nights we stayed up there. I also got to sit in on one of Stephanie's classes. That was a ton of fun, and the class could not have captivated my interest any more than it did: preserving the environment. :} Thanks for another great trip up there, Stephanie!
Up next, April vacation. We had a family vacation to Hawaii, which was also amazing with more amazing pictures and video footage. We were in an actual rainforest (a lifelong dream of mine). It was absolutely incredible. We went snorkeling there as a family, and we must have seen six sea turtles in the span of five minutes. We did a bunch of hikes and saw tons of volcano-created formations and caves. It was a great trip.
I'm gonna get into a rant about natural beauty at some point, I promise... but for now, I need my sleep.
