|A small bump could be heard from outside in the hallway as a five foot eight deep brown haired blue eyed girl made her way to her dorm room. Fumbling for her keys sending more noise through out the hallway she stepped to her door sliding in the key. Barely able to see where she was going thanks to the brown boxes in her arms she managed to get the door unlocked. As she pushed the door open with her shoulder the girl managed to stumble inside automatically tossing her keys towards her desk. She reached her foot back lightly kicking the door closed. Thankful to almost be at her destination she walked quickly to her bed setting the boxes down on the floor. She glanced around the room noticing she still had more out in the car.|

"To hell with that."

|The girl shook her head automatically making up her mind to take a break. Taking only two steps towards the light blue comforter the covered her bed, she collapsed laying down. Her pink lips curled into a smile as she closed her eyes instantly feeling as if she was falling into a light sleep. After a few moments of rest the telephone echoed through the apartment as it rang. The girl shot up grabbing the cell phone from her bag.|

"Hello? Oh hi Ann what do you need?" |The girl sighed heavily as she listened to her older sister speaking.| "I know that you need someone back home to watch him but jeez Anne you know I just moved in here I have a lot of things to do.....no I already told you I am not moving back. Just get over it." |After hearing the complaints coming from the other end of the phone she sighed heavily and hung up. Her bright blue eyes looked around the room and landed on her Dell laptop. She stood up and walked over to the small desk and sat down in front of the laptop. She turned it on and waited for it to boot up, patiently she looked around the room making note of the boxes. She shook her head slightly not looking forward to unpacking. Finally the computer was alive and she logged into her "Caleida" journal.|

Hi everyone that may read this, my name is Kayla Gracin. I am twenty-one years old, I just moved here obviously. I am about to start my sophomore year here at NYU. I transferred from NC State which did not please my family very much. I have an older sister who is 28 years old, and due to our mother's fatuation with Greek mythology, she was the one to get a Greek name. Her name is Athena Ann, she hates her first name with a passion so we all just call her Ann. She has a seven year old son, Cody, that I took care of back home. That is really a main reason she did not want me to transfer here. She needed a baby-sitter.

I don't know what all I can say about my family they are a little on the odd side I guess. My father is no longer with us sadly, he passed away two years ago come November. It was a horrible accident. Helena stopped typing briefly remembering it, she closed her eyes for a minute shaking off the emotions. She opened her eyes and looked at the computer screen which seemed to illuminate her eyes. I was pretty close with my dad, probably more so than I am with my mom. Growing up I was a tomboy, I was the girl everyone saw at the park playing football with the guys. Or out on the baseball field in the summer getting ready to shock the ones that thought I couldn't do anything with a grand slammer. So I ended up being dad's favorite I guess. Ann is very 'girly' you could say, she loves shopping. She could shop all day everyday and never get sick of it. But me? I would much rather be at home in a comfy pair of sweets sitting on the couch getting ready to watch a football game or a Nascar race. It is hard sometimes for me to watch the races, why you ask? My dad loved the sport, he worked as a crewman on one of the teams. After he passed away I can still remember the house being filled with more people that I could ever imagine from Nascar. It was weird but at the same time comforting. My mom hates the sport, go figure that one. After my father died it took her only six months before she sold our home and moved. And I will give you one guess as to where she moved. Yep, for those that guessed it, she moved to Greece. She loves it there so much. She is always talking about how beautiful the water is. I have only been once and the water was pretty amazing.

When mom sold our home I had just turned 18 and of course my sister was not going to move to Greece with mom so I just stayed with her until now. I took a couple of years off from school to help out with Ann, I mean if I was going to live with her I could at least help with the bills. And so I got myself a full time job at a bar in town. Sure I wasn't old enough to mix the drinks so I played the roll as waitress. It wasn't all that bad except for the few times someone would grab my ass. But over time I moved up, a friend of mine that is a bartender taught me how to make the drinks. And the day of my 21st birthday I started as a bartender and that is what I had been doing up until now. I am hoping to find another job like it around here. I really like it, I had a lot of fun and that is all that matters I guess.

I plan on majoring in Business, it is something I think I would be good at. And part of me thinks I just may be in school for the rest of my life because of it. But oh well.

And I think that is about it. That is me in a nutshell. I should probably just end it here, these boxes are not going to unpack themselves. Even if I wish they would. Why can't people be like Samantha on Bewitched. I would love nothing more than to twitch my nose and poof.

|Scanning through her entry Kayla smiled in approval at what she had done. Using her finger she directed the mouse down to the update button and clicked on it. She shut down the laptop and closed it, she stood from her chair and looked at the room deciding on where to being.|
