| As Jemma made her way down the hall with her belongings, she looked at each of the numbers on the doors until she found room 355 and stopped directly in front of the doorway. Timidly, she placed a hand on the doorknob, just to see if it was locked. Breathing a sigh of relief, she saw that it wasn't and made her way into the room, setting her things down onto the second empty bed. She wandered over to the computer, turning it on and waiting for it to connect, and finally clicked open her journal as she began to type. |
Jemma. That's my name. Jemma Noelle Grace, to be exact. Eighteen years of age, born on the day preceding Halloween, and a Freshman in University. Originally, I'm from Long Island, New York where I lived with my family: Mother, step-father, dog. They are probably one of the most important things in my life. Other than music and my best friend. My older brother, Jassan, lives with my father in Pennsylvania. He's been living with my father since he was 16 and I was 12. Since I was a little girl, I've always been one that entirely loved music like I've already mentioned. Jassan was the first person to ever teach me how to play an instrument, the guitar, when I was 10. Ever since, I've been playing, singing, and learning how to play the piano.
Other than my brother, my best friend happens to be Scarlett. She's is such a great girl, and I don't know how I would make it without her in my life. The two of us met after Junior High after her parents pulled her out of private school and put her into public. The two of us were 14. She was naive, whereas I wasn't. I knew who I was, what I wanted, and what I didn't want. We've basically been attached at the hip since then. She's told me that because I was such a great musician, I really inspired her to learn how to play bass. In high school, we started and, of course, ended a four piece "girl band" with two close friends. It was probably the best time of my life.
Maybe this place will be a good change for me from the scenery I happened to be in at home. Scarlett doesn't know I'm here at Dover, much less that we'll be rooming together. I, personally, find that a bit exciting and I'm definitely ready to surprise her. And besides her, I am really hoping that I can make and keep a good relationship with at least one person, romantic or not.
| Jemma scanned through her words, checking to see if they made any sense at all, as she tucked her dark and curly hair behind her ears. Seeing that everything was fine, she scrolled down and clicked on the small, gray "Update Journal" button as a small smile formed on her lips. As she clicked off her journal, Scarlett opened the door and walked in the room. As soon as Jemma turned in the chair she was sitting in, she and Scarlett locked eyes. Jemma jumped up and rushed over to her and the two of them embraced. After they seperated from each other, they wandered over to a bed and started talking about what went on since the last time the pair was together. |
