Time passes in moments...
... moments which, rushing past define the path of a life just as surely as they lead towards its end. How rarely do we stop to examine that path, to see the reasons why all things happen, to consider whether the path we take in life is our own making or simply one into which we drift with eyes closed.
But what if we could stop, pause to take stock of each precious moment before it passes? Might we then see the endless forks in the road that have shaped a life? And, seeing those choices, choose another path?
Time passes in moments...

music: Christina Aguilera :|: The Voice Within

Wow. I had some banana bread waffles for breaky (I would've made banana pancakes but we had no bananas *tear* ) and now I'm drinking a huge chocolate milkshake I made myself, by throwing things in the blender untill it tasted right, so it kept getting bigger and bigger!!! Ahhh... PMS is great eh??? *groans and clutches tummy* mmmm chocolate!!!

Yesterday went well.
0500: Wake *shudders*
0540: Walk to the school -- in the dark and cold *shudders and shivers*
0600: bus leaves school
~0930: Get to Sudbury and Laurention University. 1) Rana and Stephanie did the VO2Max testing - they had a mask attached to a tube that went to a computer that measured the oxygen and carbon dioxide content and volume of air exhaled, and the y had to go on a treadmill (ever 2 minutes the speen was increased), their heartrate was measured, and they calulated their VO2 maximum (volume of air intake basiccaly). It was really neat. 2) A few of us did hydrostatic testing (% body fat). You had to sit in this chair that was suspended from the ceiling on a newtonmetre thing and submerged in water. You totaly submerged yourself and exhaled ALL you air, then they'd do some calulations and they came out with what persent of you body is fat. I don't think I got rid of all my air (since I have this fear of drowning and such... clever idea there Sarah) so the resluts were screwy. 3) Some of the students came and talked about the programs at Laurention. The outdoor leadership is like TAMARACK except times 8 (TAMARACK was half a year, this is 4 years!!!!) can you imagine???? Krissie is so psyched to go!
~1300: Lunch. (Remember that most people ate at 0500, it's now 8 hours later...) Most went to Pizza Hut and had a buffet lunch, but a few of us ran across the street (an adventure on it's own... small town kids trying to cross at the city traffic lights... roflmao) and had burgers at HARVEY's then ice cream at DQ (remember that it's -15°C outside, and we're eating ice cream, AND trying to cross the road to get back... bad combo there... plus there's snow on the ground, and we had to climb up a hill to get to the road... with icecream in our hands.... that was the highlight of my day!!!)
1400: Science North!!! We did some more teatings (like the flexibility and stregth tests we did in grade 9 phys ed), then we had some time to run around Science North (and Stephanie and I literally ran... elevator to the top then run down... over and over and over!!! *giggles*). We played with the toys and exibits they had, went thtrough the tunnels and things for the little kids, made fools of ourselves... it was so much fun!!!! Holy kid-in-a-candy-store batman!! It was AMAZING! I really wanted to see the ISS IMAX, but we didn't have time *fountain tears* can you imagine: International Space Station on IMAX??? *drools*
1630: back on the bus - I set my CD player to The Voice Within on repeat, and slept for the next hour and a half.
1800: Stopped at a Northbay mall. We had an hour to shop and eat at the food court. I didn't get anything but others got some clothes from American Eagle. I had a tuna sub (I love tuna!!!mmmmmm) and Steph had some Japanese thing, but she couldn't use her chopsticks, so I ate all her rice WITH the chop sticks!! lol Chop sticks are fun!!
1900: back on the bus (after playing with the kitten and puppy at the front door -- OSPCA had a booth set up -- they were soooooo cute!!). I set my CD player to The Voice Within on repeat and slept for the whole ride home. ((total of 1.5hrs and 2.5 hours of The Voice Within!!! I love that song. She's amazing!)
2130: Home! Jenn's parents gave me a ride home (since Dad has the car in Peterborough from Thursday to Sunday, he's gonna try to convince my Grandma to get a dog... ^__^ ). 'Twas a good day! Long day. Very worth it.

I only work Friday (4-9) and Saturday (10:30-2:30) next week!! 9 hours!! WOW. And NO Sunday!! I work 3-8 tonight (and I don't get a break till 6! 3 hours with no break!! Ahhh.. not a good thing right now. I'll be doubled over my cash by the end). I'll try to get everything done as soon as posible so I can be on time for DRSO, but the safe has a mind of it's own (so does the printer) so who knows what'll happen. Hey, guess what... we're getting new printers fr the front end!!!!! W00T!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!! The ones we have now are so freak'n slow.... it's awfull. Hopefully these new ones'll be faster!! YAY!!

Later,

Welcome to dorkville!! the 4th of December, 2003 :: 2157 hours

mood: dorky
music: Celine Dion :|: Goodbye's (the saddest word)

I have to be on the bus at 0600 tomorrow!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!! Krissie plans to sleep the whole way there, but I don't think I'll be able to. At least I have my CD player!! And I'll bring my co-op weekly assignments that I've been neglecting all last month ( ^o^ *whistles inconspicuously*). It'll be great: miss a day of school, only $30, Science North, Laurention University, measuring body fat, VO2MAX testing, 0600-2130 (that's 15.5 hours!!), Sudbury, ... wonder if I could sneak out and visit the telescope?? (I am such a nerd!! :P)

For a carrer, this is what I'm thinking: two options, terraforming (I've gotta find some way to get it to work!!), and/or areospace engieneering (I could design planes and space ships!!! Warp drive here I come!!). That's what I'm considering right now. That and going to RMC. It sounds so amazing!! I'm basically reading their entire site, and it sounds great (the phys ed and second languge will be a challenge, as will the admission process, but oh well, challenge is good!) They have a space scence program that's got everything!! Physics, math, chem, design, plus everyone takes Cdn history, military history, phys ed, second language, and drill. ((and their server is craping out on me and nothing's loading anymore grrrrrrr)) Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *^__^* I really wanna go, but I don't know what my 'runts (oops--> 'rEnts, but that does have a nice ring to it eh? lol *evil grin*) would say... =\ I don't wanna chance that right now (since I think I've got Mum to agree to back off on the nagging front for a while... *Thank Kahless*)

You know what I did?? *giggles* I grabbed some masking tape and was putting up my posters in my room and I took the tape and make a "X" on my window like Mulder did in The X-Files!!! I'm such a dork.... *grins* If you ever go by my house check out my window, it's in the lower corner (on the hedge side). *gigglesnort*

And I've joined a begillion fanlistings!! W00t!! Interneting at 0300 is great!! :P

See ya later

Wow, 'tis been a while.

I stayed home today - migraine on top of sore throat, cough, runny nose and over all feeling like crap. I went to sleep last night at midnight, woke for about 15 min at 8:00 to answer the phone (to tell me Mum that I wasn't going to school 'cause of me head), I then slept till 1, ate and went picture searching on the net, then half slept from 3-9. I've been up ever since (watched "My Family" (a british sitcom - britcom - with Zoey Wanimaker aka Madame Hooch!!), and watched Voyager (Workforce pt 2, - I hate Jaffen... grrrrr...) - I can't believe SPACE changed the time to midnight... grrrrrrrrrrrr...).

Of course my parents think the migraine is because the weather's been so screwy lately *rolls eyes* Is it really not that obvious??? The simptons are flat out there, half the time their jumping up and down saying "pick me!!" but the 'rents don't notice. Of course they hardly hear me when I'm trying to get their attention, so why would they notice any symptoms??

*sigh* Someday things will get better... I just have to be pateint, right? Hah.

*hugs*

Simple Plan - Perfect

Hey dad look at me
Think back and talk to me
Did I grow up according to plan
And do you think I'm wasting my time
Doing things I wanna do
But it hurts when you disapprove all along

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
Can't pretend that I'm alright
And you can't change me

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

I try not to think
About the pain I feel inside
Did you know you used to be my hero
All the days you spent with me
Now seem so far away
And it feels like you don't care anymore

And now I try hard to make it
I just want to make you proud
I'm never gonna be good enough for you
I can't stand another fight
And nothing's alright

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

Nothing's gonna change the things that you said
Nothing's gonna make this right again
Please don't turn your back
I can't believe it's hard just to talk to you
But you don't understand

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

Cuz we lost it all
Nothing lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back
I'm sorry I can't be perfect

More news from the cottage the 8th of August, 2003 :: 1524 hours

mood: content
music: my sister mumbling to herself as she colours

Hi!

The past few days have been lazy. Wake up at noon type o’ dealy.

Tuesday we went golfing at the new course near us. The greens were fast and my shots were bad. But for a first time on a course it’s better to get a bad score (that way next time you’ll most likely improve!!).

Wednesday was a stay home and read type of day. It rained and was cool (thankfully, it’s been hot out here). I’m on my 4th book in 4 days! James Patterson (1st To Die, 2nd Chance and the Beach House) and now Jonathan Kellerman – Flesh and Blood. I also read John Grisham – the Summons, but that took a few days ‘cause of the golf tourney.

Thursday we went to Pem*brook* (spelt broke, pronounced brook – go figure!). Did some shopping ) back-to-school is in full swing *shudders*. Then we had supper at Eastside Marios – mmmmmmmmmmmmm…. I love it there. Great food, nice atmosphere, free refills on the drinks, salad and bread!! MMM-mmm. After we bought out tickets for the theatre (Mum and Steph – Fining Nemo, Dad and I – Tomb Raider 2), and killed some time till they started by drooling at Staples….I love that store! I could buy the place out (if I had the money…-_-…). Tomb Raider was good. Not amazing but there were some good camera angles and such, the scene with the kids’ and their TV was great – the gum!! But it was very predictable. Still can’t get over the size of Angelina Jolie’s mouth!! (no offence or anything, it’s just an observation).

Mum and Dad went in to town to pick up some food and such, so I have some time to post this. *crosses fingers in hope that the computer doesn’t die*

Anywhosis, hope you’s is havin’ a great time doing what ever you’s is doin’. Hope you had a good birthday Meggie and Nikki had a good time at camp.

I'm at my cottage right now so I won't be updateing to offten for the next two weeks (I'm using a freak'n slow laptop and 5hrs/month dail-up at 24kbps *chokes* ... I want my highspeed back!!!).

I went to our annual family golf tourney yesterday. My Grandpa didn't get to golf, and this is probably the last tourney of his lifetime... and a lot of others weren't there - they had to work (And I got two weeks off!! My boss is great sometimes!) but it was fun - two of my cousin's brought their girl friends, and if anyone can survive meeting the whole family and still want to be near the person, then they have agood chance!!

(my internet just disconnected for the 3rd time....$%^&*%&*#*)

anyways, better go, miss ya!

I like the style of the livejournal. I love making layouts and backgrounds and icons.... it's soo much fun!!

I love the mood icons here!! Sailor Moon all the way!! (they need some Star Trek ones though!!)
