20: Update (16 May +22:11)
Alberta and her only surviving relative, her grandbaby, Sue are doing quite well. Sue is still scared of being touched so we can't hold her. :/ Alberta treats her like she is still a baby including sleeping on top of her. ^.^ They have their fights but still get along well.
My nephew Jacob likes to put Alberta in this doll chair and watch her. Last time I babysitted he also had her go around with him in the bed of his sit-on-and-move truck. ^.^ Alberta enjoyed being out of the cage for a while.
Our kitten likes to sit beside the cage and bat at Alberta, completely oblivious that she can't get to her because of the cage.

This winter has taken so many mice from me. The babies are gone.. leaving only one and Alberta. My sweet James is dead. He died in my hand peacefully. I cried so hard I couldn't stop.. he was my favorite.
I was given Alberta in May and it's almost been a year now. Such a cycle of life and death.. I don't think I can take much more.

Two of the babies are dead.. I don't know what they died of. Poor things... rest in peace.
17: Been a while since I last wrote... (18 Jan +01:03)
Things has happened with the miceses... caught Pat and lost her.. caught her again and had to let her out of the house. Hiku and Hubi got out of their cage.. found a male and one of them had babies.. three of them, two grey and one white. We had to resort to using traps to catch the girls and the boy.. unfortunately Hiku didn't make it.
Alberta is in the cage with the babies and Hubi is in another with the male for now.. James is still the bachelor in his cage in my room.

15: Triumph! (21 Sep +05:45)
Both James and Pat were roaming around in my room for a few days. (James squeezed his little butt out of the cage and Caitlin let Pat go.) I found James in my trash bin looking really pitiful but no sign of Pat.
Suddenly late in the evening while I was on my computer, I saw this flash of grey against my carpet. (Mouse!) Whatdoyaknow, it's good ol' Pat. After twenty minutes of chasing her, she ran back behind my dresser which I cannot move. So, I blocked one side and put the container of food I had left out blocking the other way out. Pat is too clever for her own good, she figured out to grab a piece of food and run out before I could scoop up the container with her inside.
In my frustration and determination, I came up with a door (like a cat door) for the container that she could push open from the outside but not from within. I just used a piece of sketchbook paper, a piece of tape, and a pen top. It took patience but she finally went in after a few hours and I had her! Muhwahahaha!
2-0 Damn, I'm good! :D
14: OMG... (27 Aug +22:50)
My mice are dead.
Yesterday while I was at school, they apparently decided to have a royal rumble leaving five dead and two alive. (These are the males. All three of the females are okay, being in a separate cage and all.)
I had just gotten home from school and Caitlin was like, "Hey, I think one is dead."
I said, "What?"
"He's turned over on his stomach and he's not moving."
I looked in the cage and there was the one she mentioned in the middle of the cage and there was the three others in the corner and it looked like they were sleeping but then I saw that one of their heads was ripped open.. That's when I started to cry and it turned into full out bawling. Dad tried to comfort me but I couldn't be.
Dad had to clean out the cage... A little while after the two left started fighting real bad so I had to make a makeshift cage for one. I've been watching the one in the makeshift cage and compared to the one in the real cage, I know that he isn't the killer. Caitlin agrees with me too. The killer goes fucking crazy when we try to pick him up, jumping and speeding around the cage. He's also really fat from eating on his brothers. :(
The boys are going to biology teacher to whom Alberta belonged soon. I know it will make her sad too.
I told this all to Aaron yesterday and he didn't understand why I was/am upset. I've watched these guys from the time they were just pink hairless little things to adulthood.. They are my pets and I've grown attached to them. Seeing them just the day before running around and healthy to suddenly lifeless and stiff as a board is a shock. God, I miss them already.

12: Bath Time! (11 Aug +02:43)
When I cleaned out the cage, we put the boys in the bath tub. Caitlin decided that she was going to clean them with a bit of soap because they stunk. (Stinky boys! ^_^)
( But I don't wanna be clean! )
