Time:1:34 am.
Mood:hollow.
Draco was slowly heading down the path he had traveled the week before, but this time it was worse.

He was as secretive as ever and had actually enchanted his bedsheets to hover in place, forming a wall to block off his corner of the dorm. He had even gone as far as soundproofing them and enchanting them to only allow his body to pass behind them.

Although Draco had returned to his normal routine, he was still in somewhat of a surreal world. He had chosen to sit on his own in class, accomplishing this only by entering the lessons seconds before his Professors were to begin and he had not shown up for any meals since his return. He was spending an unusual amount of time in the dorms as well.

It was obvious that this was not the same Draco that had left the castle mere days ago. He refused to speak with anyone. Any words that did leave his mouth were more like acid than ever. Even his own house members were targets.

Mood:sleepy.
Hermione rolled over, her leg hitting something...furry? She sat up in bed and stared through the darkness at whatever was blocking her legs...and there it was. Her new best friend, apparently. A giant dog curled up at the foot of her bed. She sighed and tried not to stir too much; the dog needed sleep, after all. It would be selfish of her to deny him that.

Her last thought before drifting off again was of the pillow fight she was determined to win after her Thursday classes. She would not let Harry defeat her. This was war.

She chuckled and drifted once more into a deep, peaceful sleep, feeling the aura of security all around her.

Mood:anxious.
Sirius had awoken the next morning feeling refreshed, despite the number of times he was nudged awake during the night by Hermione's feet. He jumped off the bed and shook off his sleepyness before he changed back to his human form. He took some of his new clothes and headed to the bathroom in the Room (which Harry and so thoughtfully summoned for him the night before). He took a long, hot shower and let the water run over his body. It felt good he thought... good to be alive again.

He quickly jumped out of the shower and dress very smartly. Dark straight-legged pants that had very light pinstripes; a semi-fitted white, mock turtleneck, and a jacket over the whole ensemble. It was one of the outfits he had bought on his shopping trip just days ago. When he emerged from the bathroom the sun was just beginning to fully rise into the sky. He took a seat in one of the comfy leather arm-chairs and took a book down from one of the bookshelves and began to read.

He wasn't even sure if he'd be getting to teach DADA today, but he was surely excited at the prospect. Hopefully Lupin would have replied to Dumbledore's letter and Dumbledore himself would have announced the presence of a new professor. He truly hoped that was the case. He was beginning to feel a little cooped up from staying in the Room all the time and having to change into his animagus form when he left the room. He wanted to be able to walk around the grounds freely and hopefully he would get to do that today.

Although it was well into the afternoon, George Weasley lay in bed, sleeping. Earlier, Fred had contemplated letting off a few fireworks to wake him up, but he had decided against it. He resigned himself to the fact that George clearly needed the sleep and went to the joke shop without him.

Now, nearly five hours later, George still hadn't stirred. . . Maybe the ghoul wasn't aware that he was below him, sleeping , or maybe he just didn't care. Either way, he had chosen that exact moment to make a ruckus in the attic. . .

George's eyes snapped open. He blinked, wondering why everything was bright orange, and then realized he had fallen asleep in Ron’s room. He sat up, yawning slightly.
" No wonder I had nightmares," he mumbled to himself as he ran his hand over Ron’s tattered bedspread. "Not only is it ugly, it’s barely there. " Before rising from bed, George made a mental note to buy Ron a new blanket, or at least find a way to magically repair it. George grimaced and looked towards the ceiling, just as another loud bang echoed through the room. Part of the ceiling began flaking, and he decided it was time to return to his own room. He certainly regretted falling asleep in Ron's room anyway. He sighed and then apparated into his own room, nearly knocking over one of his owls as he did.

Without waiting for a reply, the owl dropped the letter it was carrying into George's hand and flew back out the window. Recognizing the handwriting, George frowned. Judging from the light streaming in the window, it was pretty late. He hoped business hadn't been too busy. With that thought, he tore the letter open

Setting the letter on the desk, George quickly searched the room for something to wear. Throwing on the same outfit he had worn the day before, he grabbed his wand and apparated to the joke shop.

Mood:lonely.
Once again, Draco's day had been spent within his room. For the most part at least. While he had gone to his Charms class, he had easily found a way to leave early and simply refused to attend the rest of the days classes. Not that anyone had tried to force him as of yet, though having missed almost a weeks worth of classes thus far, someone was bound to say something to him about it.

Instead of attending class, he retreated to the boys dorm, chosing to sit at his desk with his head in his hands. Perhaps if he had not forced himself to bottle up his emotions, he would have cried.

But no.. the last time he cried was when he was four. He had found his Fathers wand and had only been pretending to use it when great sparks flew from it. Not only had this startled him but it had also caused several burns. When his Father had found him sitting in his office, crying his eyes out while the wand still sparked infront of his small form, he reprimanded Draco harshly instead of offering any sort of comfort. He was most certainly taught a lesson and with each sob came more punishment.

From that day on Draco had kept his emotions to himself, for the most part. He refused to let any see his insecurities and those who had seen them were few and far between. Not once from that day had he disobeyed his Father, not once had he spoken ill of him or against him. Not once had he questioned his Fathers Motives or actions. Not once.. until Monday.

And what did he get for daring to question the Lord of the Manor? A shitload of trouble is what. The events that took place in that office were known only to Draco and Lucius, and it was obvious that the results were enough to break Draco's spirits, causing only bitterness in the following days.

Time:5:23 pm.
Sirius walked through the halls of Hogwarts for the first time since he was a student there himself. It was as he remembered it. The same portraits hung on the walls, the staircases still moved from time to time, the students rushing to and from class while others sat in the grassy courtyard, reading books or just chatting with their friends.

A world of memories flooded back into Sirius's mind as he made his way to the DADA classroom, passing students as he did, most of which looked at him twice to catch a better glimpse of the mysterious stranger. Sirius couldn't help but get a tad ego boost as groups of girls would stop in their tracks and start chatting about him. He chuckled to himself. Heh... if only he was a student...

Now he was back at Hogwarts under a new name, given a second chance at life to be with his godson and those he cared about most. He was a Professor this time around though, posing to be Lupin's assistant until he and Dumbledore figured out a more suitable solution. To Sirius however, this was the BEST solution.

He entered the DADA classroom and found Lupin there waiting for him. The two old friends nodded to one another as Sirius walked toward the desk at the front of the classroom. Lupin knew he was coming and had brought in an extra chair for him to sit in at the front of the room. Sirius smiled at his friend.

"So what's on the agenda for today Professor?"

Remus grinned, "I thought I'd let you decide on what to teach the class today. I'll let you take over... it'll give the students a chance to see you in action."

Sirius fumbled slightly, "Excuse me? I'm not even prepared for this! I... you..." Remus broke out into a chuckle. "Oh so you think this is funny do you? Well... alright then. I can handle this. But next time... I'd appreciate a bit of a warning if it's not too much to ask."

Remus nodded.

"Okay so when does class start?" asked Sirius.

"In about... ten minutes."

Sirius groaned and shot Remus a nasty look. He'd get his friend back for this later. But right now, he had to think of something fast to teach the class. A few students began piling into the classroom. Sirius saw the surprised look on their faces as their gaze fell upon him. He wondered how he looked to them as he looked down at his dress. He was wearing the same outfit that he had picked out this morning: pinstripe slacks, white mock turtleneck, black jacket, and boots.

"Godric... I must look like some model out of a magazine," he groaned to himself, "they'll never take me seriously in this!"

It was too late to change his clothes as the classroom quickly filled and Sirius found himself in front of a full house. The bell rang and it was time to begin class. Sirius looked out over the crowd. He caught sight of Harry, Hermione, and Ron and gave them a quick wink before beginning his lecture.

"Good afternoon class," he began. His voice was a smooth tenor. "I am Professor Canis, I'll be assisting Professor Lupin for the remainder of the year in Defense Against the Dark Arts."

He began pacing in the front of the classroom as some of the students began whispering to one another.

"We'll begin today's lesson shortly, but first, I'd like to see if anyone had any questions for me?"

(Bloody Hell?!)

Time:8:29 pm.
Mood:accomplished.
Sirius planted himself by the lake as he looked at the moon shimmering brightly in the night sky. It's light reflected upon the water's surface making the lake seem peaceful. He heaved a deep sigh, happy that he didn't have to go sneaking around as Padfoot now that the students knew who he was. He had done fairly well in class that day, he thought. The students seemed interested in what he was saying and he hoped the spells he was giving them weren't above their skill level.

He had taken off his jacket and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt. It was a beautiful night... not too hot, nor too cold. Just perfect. He laid down upon the grass and let the blades tickle his skin. He crossed his arms behind his head and stared up into the night sky. The saw the Dog Star twinkling brightly above him as if it too were sharing in the happiness Sirius was feeling at the moment. He smiled to himself and closed his eyes, allowing his body to relax upon the earth.

I think... I'll stay out here ... for a while...

Time:10:52 pm.
Mood:empty.
It was late, but Blaise was still stirring a purple, smoking potion. At a school like Hogwarts, you could never have too much Wound-Cleaning Potion around. She was wondering when Professor Snape usually quit working, but something told her he neither slept much nor spent much time in idle pursuits.

She added the proper amount of crushed snake fangs, and in a few minutes the potion was finished. After bottling it and labeling it appropriately, she excused herself for the evening, taking another book with her. She seemed to go through them like Millicent went through blood-flavored lollipops these days.

Aquillo greeted her with an affectionate hoot when she returned to her room.

"You really should go back to him, you know."

Aquillo glared at her and hooted haughtily, flapping up to perch on top of her bed frame.

"He's probably going through a lot. It's not our fault." Blaise sighed wearily. "Please go back. For me."

Aquillo, however, did not seem convinced, and made no move toward the window.

Blaise put down her bookbag and curled up on her bed, fully clothed and exhausted. After the hour she spent crying that afternoon, she felt too drained to feel much of anything anymore. She stayed there, motionless, for a long time before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a small glass vial. Blaise twirled it between her fingers, watching the deep blue liquid move from one end of the vial to the other, before she opened it and downed the contents. An hour later she was still staring listlessly at a ribbon tied around her wrist, her arm resting limply in front of her on the bed.

Sirius awoke from his nap by the lake. He jumped to his feet quickly, wondering what time it was. He had to get back to the castle before Harry and the others started to worry about him. He ran over the grounds and up to the castle. He entered Hogwarts quietly and began to make his way up to the Room of Requirement.

He hadn't had a chance to talk to Harry after class but he figured since he was well enough to be out and about, he would no longer be staying in the room. Which meant he would be alone. It saddened him to lose his roommates but he knew it was for the best to keep up the facade of student/teacher. He climbed the steps slowly, completely exhausted.
