Draco's inability to be around such a large crowd of people had stuck with him even into the night. Not only that but he didn't have a particularly large appetite either. The roll and pumpkin juice he had obtained from the Great Hall would suit him just fine. With a sigh he bagan to walk the halls, deciding it was better not to head back to the dungeons. He needed to just walk and clear his mind, perhaps find a nice window to sit by. He had taken only a few sips of his pumpkin juice before resting it on a window sill on the second floor and continuing on his way. He thought nothing of leaving it there for he knew a house-elf would be bound to find it. The events of his day flashed through his mind, that voice within chiding him for many of his actions. That same anguished look from earlier in the day took over his features as he slumped down by another window further down the hall. Hands rested on his knees and he was now picking the roll apart and flicking the small pieces across the hall. He needed to stop thinking.. it was only making things worse, but it seemed that was all he could do. |

| Sarah smiled happily as she wandered the grounds of hogwarts, She was walking to her favorite place on the grounds, the lake. When she reached her destination she sat down on the soft grass underneath a willow tree and looked across the lake, watching the giant squid swim past. She leaned back against the tree and then closed her eyes, listening to the water and the birds in the leaves above her. She slowly dozed off and only stirred when a gentle breeze past. |

| Several hours later Fawcett woke up slowly, glancing across the lake she noticed that the figure was now gone, she stood up slowly and picked up her things, it was getting dark and she knew dinner had already started. She walked slowly back up to the castle towards the great hall. The hall was crowded and the only seat she could find was at the end of the slytherin table. She sat down by herself and took a sip of her pumpkin juice and then started to drink her soup as she did not feel like eating solids tonight. |

Hermione made her way to the Great Hall for lunch. So far her day had been relatively calm...which unnerved her a bit. "Calm", to her, usually meant "calm before the storm", and she knew there were at least a couple of things due to happen today that might turn into the storm of the century. She also kept thinking about yesterday afternoon. It was hard not to, really, given that her ankle was still a bit sore... There was also an owl that she'd been expecting. Well, not really expecting...maybe half-heartedly hoping for. She didn't really understand why. But she was getting used to feeling like that these days: full of emtions and thoughts, and not understanding a single one of them. Hermione took a seat and grabbed some food. She was hungry enough to actually eat, although not the way she did last night, thank goodness. She'd wondered if her worry about a couple of things today would preclude her appetite. She sighed and wondered where everyone was. |

Sarah Trecked up to the owlery, regreting offering malfoy to use her owl, she would now have to use a common brown owl of the schools. She scribbled on some Parchment and then attached it to one of the owls leg and set it off. ( Owl to Ron, Great Hall ) Sarah watched the owl fly off then walked back to the common room, not as her usual Happy self. She walked up to her dormitry and hopped straight into bed and closed the curtains, not wanting to hear the comments of her dorm mates. |

Sirius had spent most of his weekend in a pub... well, a portrait IN a pub that served only the finest liquor galleons could buy. And buy Sirius did. He had gone through three bottles of rum and a numerous amount of butterbeer before he started to recount his sad tale to whomever lend a willing ear. The pub had let Sirius stay the whole weekend, but on Monday morning, they kicked him out. He stumbled through each portrait on the way back to Hogwarts, spilling some of the rum from the bottle he held in his left while swigging the butterbeer from the bottle held in his right hand. His hair was disheveled and a very deep 5 o'clock shadow was growing on his face. Dark circles encompassed his eyes as well. His ears perked however when a very annoyed voice pierced the air. "What ARE you doing here?! Get out of my portrait!" "Pi- *hiccup*- Pipe down woman. Dun need ta geb loub wif me!" He was swaying dangerously close to the Fat Lady's face now, "I know -*hiccup*- where I'm goin..." The Fat Lady's face turned a bright pink, a shade that matched her dress, as she pushed Sirius away from her, "You... rogue!" But the hard shove was too much as it pushed Sirius's equilibrium over the edge. As he staggered about, trying to regain his balance, his stomach took a turn for the worse. All of the liquor he had drinken over the weekend was beginning to churn. Beads of sweat formed upon his brow as he struggled to keep the contents of his stomach down. But it was futile. In a matter of moments Sirius threw up all over the Fat Lady's lap, staining her pink dress and causing it to smell of rum and butterbeer. Another round of alcohol lurched up from Sirius's stomach, this time landing on the ground in front of the Lady's chair. The Fat Lady screamed incredulously as she rushed out of the portrait, knocking Sirius over as she did so. The young Marauder in the meantime rose to his feet and left the portrait guarding Gryffindor Tower before anyone had a chance to spot him. He finally reached his own portrait and slumped into his favorite chair. What I wouldn't give for a nice bed, he thought, too bad Harry-- His own thoughts cut off at the mere name of his godson. Tears began welling up in his eyes as he envisioned the idea that Harry would never want to see him again after what he told him Friday night. Sirius's first instinct was to leave his portrait and find one of another pub where he could drown his sorrows in. But his body physically told him "NO" as it pulled him back down into the seat. He heaved a deep sigh, rested his elbows on his knees and propped his head in his hands. And then, as a wave of emotion flooded his heart, the tears began to fall. |

Draco had made it to Potions just before Snape began his opening lecture. He managed to find himself a seat towards the back where it was less crowded on the Slytherin side. He was definately paler than usual and his usual scowl was missing. Instead of paying rapt attention to Snape's every word, as he usually would have, he again, opened the leatherbound journal and began writing. Snape either didn't mind his inattention or just hadn't noticed yet. Every now and again he would glance up to make sure he wasn't missing too much. He even chanced a glance at the Gryffindors, which may very well have been a mistake... |

After talking with Ron, Ginny walks heavily back to the Common Room. She sits down and begins to write. "Dear Percy..." |

Hermione skipped dinner and went straight to the library. She had some work she wanted to get done. At least, that's what she kept telling herself. She was worried about a hundred and one things, not the least of which was her own obvious insanity. She chose the darkest, most out-of-the-way table she could find, and sat down to read. Her attention was elsewhere, though, and she jumped at even the smallest noises around her. She kept looking up, half expecting to see someone standing there. It all seemed to be just her imagination. |

Madam Pince was adamantly herding everyone out of the library, so Blaise decided she'd better pack up her stuff and return to the dungeons. She closed her book with a sigh. It had been so long since she had encountered anything as intellectually challenging as this and she was reluctant to put it down. She reminded herself that she would still have the book tomorrow, and put it in her bag. Blaise wandered down the corridors until she reached the Slytherin common room. She felt rather empty now that she wasn't distracting herself with reading. It was either go to bed, or hope for a quiet corner to hide in with her book. Crabbe and Goyle were amusing themselves by throwing first years across the room, so that left her with only one option. Upstairs in bed, Blaise stared at the ceiling for a rather long time before she pulled out a quill and some parchment, deciding to at least do something productive if she was going to be awake anyway. |

Sirius lay back on the bed indulging himself in the comforters that seemed to envelope him. He looked up at the painted ceiling and sighed before forcing himself off the bed. He headed for the bathroom and showered, cleaning himself up after his weekend pub crawl. His hair dripped lightly as he reemerged from the bathroom, a towel tied around his waste and water glistening off his chiseled physique. He went to the wardrobe and pulled out what looked like sweat pants and a tee-shirt and took them back to the bathroom to dress. Sirius couldn't remember when he felt this relieved and refreshed as he sat on the bed again, dress and ready for bed. His conversation with Harry earlier that evening that lifted his spirits and hopes to a point he didn't think imaginable. He stared out into Hagrid's hut, eyeing the contents of the moderately sized shack. He noticed the fire dying slightly in the fireplace as he set his sights on the point. "Concentrate Sirius... you can do it..." He focused on the fire and thought of the spell to bring it back to life. Within moments, the fire received a bolt of energy and revived itself. Sirius smiled at his accomplishment as he set his sights on his own hands. "Lumos," he thought as he looked at his fingers. They began to glow eerily in the dim light. He smiled once more. "Heh I might as well keep practicing he thought..." as he continued to focus his energy on performing magic outside his frame. If he kept this pace up he'd be more than ready in a few days and that was something worth working for. |
