Hermione left the meeting as quickly as she possibly could, avoiding any and all people who may have taken the opportunity to speak to her. The peaceful feeling she'd had when she'd awoken that morning was entirely gone. She found herself thinking, somewhat irrationally, that she would do just about anything at this point to feel that way again, but...she didn't think she'd retrieve it tonight. Without even caring who saw her or what questions the look on her face might inspire, she hurried into Gryffindor Tower. Her only place of solace was waiting for her. |

The news Draco had recieved by owl the previous day had finally lifted his spirits, as had the end to his night. He entered the D.A.D.A classroom with a rather big smirk upon his face, a phenomenon in itself, as he absolutely hated the class due to the fact that it was time spent with not only Gryffindors but with a pathetic and possibly dangerous werewolf as well. He sauntered over to his seat and glanced over towards the Gryffindors, still smirking as if he knew something they didn't, but should. Draco was feeling particularly malicious as he sat there listening to the werewolf drone on and on. It wasn't until he realized that Weasley had been forced to take a seat unusually close to him, that his eyes lit up. Generally something like this would disgust him, but today was different. Draco glanced to the werewolf then back at Weasley. "Hey you great waste of a wizard," he whispered to Ron "I hear the whore you call a sister is doing better. Shame really.. it was rather nice having one less Weasley wandering the school..." |

Hermione sat miserably in D.A.D.A. It was bad enough that there were Slytherins in the room with her, but Malfoy was causing a stir, trying to rile Ron up. She hadn't wanted to get involved, really, but she was having a hard enough time concentrating without hearing them sniping back and forth at one another. Her day had not started well. And now she was most definitely paying the price. After returning to her dorm room last night, she'd fallen asleep relatively quickly...which was apparently not a good thing. She'd tossed and turned all night, terrible images entering her brain, and the whole situation had climaxed when she awoke before dawn, disoriented, sitting up in her bed, sheets everywhere, surrounded by her roommates. Every last one of them had a terrified look on their faces. Hermione looked around at them, wondering why her heart was hammering in her chest, wondering why she felt so clammy. "Hermione..." one of the girls whispered. "We had to wake you up. You were screaming and thrashing about... Are you...okay?" Hermione had sat, stone-faced, for the longest time, before thanking her roommates and waving them away. She remembered her dream. She knew why she'd been screaming. This was the worst one yet. Now, throughtout the halls, the rumour of Hermione's breakdown at dawn seemed to have reached everyone. People were whispering about it as she walked from class to class. She also knew, from a quick check in the girls' bathroom, that she looked like death. She kept overhearing words like "bloodcurdling screaming", "completely out of it", and "really come unhinged, hasn't she?" as she walked. That did nothing to improve her mood. And here she was in D.A.D.A., listening to Malfoy rattle on about her destroyed books. People in class were looking at her, probably wondering why her eyes looked like they'd sunken into her head. She was exhausted. She was so tired she thought about asking to leave when she got to 'Care of Magical Creatures'... |

Peeves had taken to toning down his acts of mischief as of late.. it seemed that many of the Professors were rather cross at him, yet he had no clue why.. Today he had managed to make three Ravenclaw girls late for class by sneaking up behind them, invisible, then grabbing one of the girls noses and yelling "GOT YER CONK!" and then 'borrowing' their make-up to draw all over the wall. For the girls, it had been devastating, for Peeves, it was just another boring day. He had also managed to stuff large wads of gum into several keyholes and squirted a sticky glue-like substance onto several areas of the floor in both the second floor corridor and the corridor passing the Great Hall. Though he had yet to see anyone fall into his traps. |

After bolting from D.A.D.A., Hermione couldn't face going to her last class of the day anyway. She was exhausted, she was angry, and she looked positively frightening. The smallest things had set her off today. Malfoy was probably still laughing with all of his creepy friends about the way she'd darted out of the classroom... She didn't know and didn't care if anyone noticed that she'd missed 'Care of Magical Creatures'. She simply hid out until she knew the coast would be clear, and she set off to see someone she knew would make her heart feel a little lighter again. As soon as she entered his room, though, the tears began again. He was sitting at his dinner table, and as soon as he saw her face, he was on his feet. "Hermione...is that you? What's the matter?" She could hardly stop crying long enough to tell him. |
