(1 Hermione is smart, isn't she? |Bloody Hell?!)

Subject:Draco takes action.
Time:12:35 am.
Mood:infuriated.
Draco had had enough of all this nonsense. Peeves had taken things too far and Draco was fuming from the past days events.

On top of everything, he hadn't seen Blaise for what seemed like ages and because of Peeves, it seemed she might be trapped in the Hospital Wing forever! Well, that was it. Draco wasn't going to stand for it any longer. Not only had they treated Blaise poorly, but they were holding her against her will. The owl she had sent him clearly stated that. He stalked off to the infirmary, wand at the ready and a scowl upon his face. If anyone were to meet up with him at this particular moment they'd certainly be sorry.

Draco had one thing on his mind:

Rescuing Blaise from the clutches of Madame Pomfrey and the terrors of the infirmary,

and nothing was going to prevent him from accomplishing his goal.

Time:1:25 am.
Hermione chewed thoughtfully on the end of her quill, thinking she'd written enough for one night. Her wrist was actually getting tired, and when she really thought about it, she realized she must have been writing for hours already. She'd been completely isolated from the world in here.

She closed the book that had lain in front of her for so long, and sat up on the bed. She listened carefully and heard nothing. She'd half hoped Harry would come by after his talk with Sirius, because she was desperate to know what he'd thought of his gifts, but she wanted to find a good place for this book first. This room was perfect for hiding such things--she knew this from experience.

With a quick glance around, she decided she'd put it in the same place she'd found Sirius' diary. It was a good spot. Obviously. That diary hadn't been found for years; what were the odds that hers would be?

Massaging her wrist and grimacing, Hermione laid back down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Sometimes introspection could be so taxing.

(Bloody Hell?!)

Time:3:11 am.
Harry walked back to the common room from Professor Flitwick's office. He wished he hadn't let whoever that was get such a good head start, but there really was nothing he could have done. Most likely it was Filch chasing Peeves...that happened a lot in the middle of the night. Harry was beginning to feel slightly foolish for running around the castle because he thought something shady might possibly be going on....

The portrait hole opened to reveal that he wasn't the only one still up. Dean was sitting there with his Potions book on his lap in a chair in front of the fire.

"Hey, Dean," he said. "I thought you were in the hospital wing."

Harry felt reassured by his talk with Dean as he trudged up the stairs. It had to have been Filch, and Ginny was fine. It had all been in his head. Maybe he really did have a "saving people thing." When he walked over to his bed, on his bedside table was an owl. He sat down on the edge of his bed to read it, and the frown he had worn earlier returned. He hoped that whatever the meeting was about, it wasn't cause for too much worry, but he somehow doubted it. He'd have to wait for Monday to find out.

Time:8:44 am.
Hermione awoke early on Friday morning. She hadn't meant to fall asleep where she was, really...and it was quite disorienting to figure out exactly where she was waking up. After a moment of blinking in the darkness, she regained her senses and got up, stiffly, brushing herself off and grabbing her quill.

Through the wall she went, and after a quick shower and clothes change, she thought about heading down to breakfast. She felt so out of it, having been hidden away for so many hours. But she doubted much interesting had happened since last night.

Maybe she'd be able to visit Ginny in the hospital wing before breakfast, come to think of it... Poor girl had been attacked by Peeves. Hermione knew what that felt like. When she got to the infirmary, however, what she saw surprised her greatly. She turned on her heel and raced back up to the Great Hall, hoping Ron would be there...she had to tell him what she'd seen... Poor Ginny...

Subject:Ginny follows
Time:12:32 pm.
Ginny slowly opened her eyes. Yes, they were all gone. Even Dean. Where were they? She had heard the sounds of fighting, and a lot of a woman cursing, in her dream. Was Dean alright? And where was Harry? He said he was going to come by and see her, and he never broke his word.
She got up slowly to see where they had gotten to...

(Bloody Hell?!)

Time:3:00 pm.
Mood:bored.
Dean watched ginny as she fell asleep and then turned on his side and pick up a book and began to read. He sighed as he turned each page then put the book down on the table beside him and picked up his potions homework. Reading the question several times he began to work. A foot of parchment later Dean put away his homework and sighed with relief. He could now relax now that his homework was done. Standing up, Dean walked over to the window and looked out onto the grounds, he laughed quietly as he heard draco come in.

(Bloody Hell?!)

Time:3:29 pm.
Mood:blah.
After the excitement of Draco and Blaise's escape, Dean decided that it was time he should be off to. He packed his books into his bag and walked over to ginny's bed, Dean wispered softly to her "Ginny, i'll be off now i think, i am feeling better and i am bored out of my brains." he smiled and kissed her soflty on the forehead "seeyou later, i will visit you after tea if you dont come down to dinner." he smiled at her and walked back to gryffindor tower.

Subject:Everyone loves a good mystery....
Time:3:40 pm.
Harry and Ron left the Great Hall and went off to the infirmary, but Ginny was gone when they got there. They decided then to retrace Harry's path from the night before and ask the portraits if they had seen anything.

Most of the portraits had been asleep, or visiting friends, or complained that it was too dark on their section of stairs to see anything properly at night. However, there was on portrait on the stairs to the fourth floor that
had seen something.

"Mr. Potter, is it," the old wizard in somber robes said gruffly. "I've heard of you, of course, but I never expected you to stop and talk."

"Well, sir, it's just that I need to know if you saw anything unusual last night. Like someone running up these stairs."

The portrait wizard put down the book he was reading and looked at Harry over the top of his glasses. "I did in fact see a pair of people running up these stairs, followed shortly there after by a third person, though that's hardly unusual in the castle. Students are always running around, out of bounds and out of order. And then there's the caretaker who is always after Peeves. I remember some of the stunts that poltergeist pulled in my days here. If I had become headmaster...."

"Er, thank you, sir...just one more thing. Did you happen to see what these people looked like?"

The wizard's painted brow furrowed. "I can't say that I did. I just barely looked up from my book as they passed. All I can say for certain is that they were students, and one of their robes had recently caught on fire. As they rounded the corner at the top of the stairs, I noticed that it was burned from the hem upwards and still slightly smoking."

"Thanks," Harry said, glancing at Ron and then back to the portrait. "Er, we have to get going, if that's all you saw."

The portrait nodded, picking up his book again as Ron and Harry ran off to find Hermione.

Time:8:16 pm.
Mood:creative.
Ron tried as hard as he ever had at anything not to tear out of the Gryffindor Common Room to find Mafloy. Dean had just finished giving them an explanation of what happened to Ginny while she was laid up in the Hospital Wing...Ron still couldn't believe all that had happened directly under the usually sharp nose of Madam Pomfrey. He stayed for awhile after Dean left with Fred, George, and Harry to toss around some rather unsavory prospects for teaching Malfoy who he should and should not give boils to, when he remember horribly that he had swicthed prefect duties with the prefects from Hufflepuff. Seems one of them had a "date" that could not be missed.

His brothers snide comment up the marble staircase after he left them behind in the Great Hall. Somethings really never changed, including George and Fred's opinion of those who made prefect.
"Not my bloody fault I was made prefect," Ron muttered underneath his breath, though he took the opportunity to glance down and make sure the badge was still pinned to his robes straight.

Ron paced through the hallways, a snide grin crossing his face occasionally when he thought of a particularly nasty punishment for Malfoy...he even caught the interest of a portrait of a hassled mother with 3 children tugging at her robes when he let out a short of laughter as he imagined turning all of Malfoys digits into mushrooms.

(Bloody Hell?!)

Time:8:20 pm.
Harry stalked off to the common room. He had meant to go looking for Malfoy after the talk, but he changed his mind...some Occlumency and homework would take his mind off of things. He was still angry at Malfoy, but the end of the meeting with the three Weasley brothers had irritated him. He was no longer in a mood for revenge...he just wanted to be alone. Maybe not entirely alone, but there were only two people he would want to see, and one of them was not available.

He stomped up the stairs to the boy's dorm to grab his Transfiguration book. Dean was there, writing an owl...Harry scowled at him, but another part of him was just hoping he was writing to either Dumbledore or Ginny. He found his book, then went down to the L.S. to study.

Time:11:42 pm.
Hermione sat and replayed the ridiculous conversation she'd had with Madam Pomfrey over and over in her head. Unbelievable. After talking with Ron and Harry, she'd had to hunt for the woman all over the place. When she finally found her, Pomfrey had been pacing the halls, looking like she was suffering from the fright of her life.

"Madam Pomfrey?" Hermione said, cautiously, in case the poor woman freaked out. Her eyes were wide and frantic.

"Miss Granger! Do you know what happened to Miss Weasley? I lost her somehow this morning....and when she returned...she was covered in bandages that I hadn't put there! And she doesn't seem to know what went on last night while I...oh dear...I should have..."

Hermione looked bewildered, filled Madam Pomfrey in on what little she knew, and then found out that the nurse had spent the entire night reclined at her desk, with an enchanted pair of Professor Sprout's earmuffs blocking out the sounds of the infirmary. That would explain how whomever had done this had gotten away so easily. Madam Pomfrey was obviously guilt-ridden. Whole lot of good that does Ginny, Hermione thought sourly.

She wondered what Harry and Ron may have found out that afternoon. She'd spent so much of the day hunting the nurse that she was out of the loop once again. Hermione eventually returned to the common room and hoped that someone would come by and tell her how Ginny was, and what she'd missed.
